The statement is issued following the end of the 2024/25 financial year and complies with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, which requires organisations above a specified turnover threshold to outline the steps they take each year to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within their business operations and supply chains.
About Us
Trading Bullion is a UK-based bullion dealer specialising in the sale of gold, silver, platinum and palladium. We work with internationally recognised mints and refiners and only trade products sourced from reputable suppliers in order to maintain high standards of worker welfare and ethical sourcing within our supply chain.
As a retailer of precious metals to the public, we source our bullion from well-established refiners, including many listed on the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) Good Delivery List.
We are committed to operating as an ethical and responsible bullion provider.
What Is Modern Slavery?
The UK Government defines modern slavery as "a crime resulting in an abhorrent abuse of human rights." Under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, this includes offences relating to slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking.
Modern slavery often occurs when individuals are exploited by organisations seeking to reduce costs or increase profits, frequently affecting vulnerable workers in developing regions.
How We Address Modern Slavery
Trading Bullion takes a proactive approach to ensuring our supply chain operates ethically and is free from modern slavery.
Supplier Engagement
Our purchasing team regularly engages with suppliers to ensure that the precious metals we source originate from responsible and conflict-free sources. Staff involved in supplier relationships are informed about geopolitical and socioeconomic risks in regions associated with precious metal production, allowing them to assess suppliers appropriately.
If a supplier were found not to meet our ethical standards, we would not hesitate to review or terminate that relationship.
Due Diligence
We undertake due diligence on new and existing suppliers, reviewing their compliance with applicable law, ethical trading standards, and relevant industry certifications. We work exclusively with established, certified suppliers and require evidence of compliance with responsible sourcing standards where applicable.
Our Policies
We operate a number of internal policies to ensure we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner, including:
- An anti-slavery and human trafficking policy
- A whistleblowing policy to enable staff to report concerns
- A code of business conduct setting out the standards expected of all staff
Training
We provide awareness training to relevant staff to ensure they understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking and are equipped to identify and report concerns.
Key Performance Indicators
We measure the effectiveness of the steps taken through:
- Completion of due diligence assessments for new suppliers
- Review of existing supplier relationships on an ongoing basis
- Staff training completion records
Data Retention
We retain records of all transactions for a period of seven years in accordance with regulatory requirements. Customer information is stored securely and handled in compliance with UK data protection legislation and GDPR standards. Transaction details are not shared with HM Revenue & Customs unless we are legally required to do so.
